16Data from the SIDH3 dummy were recorded by the FOIL ODAS III data acquisition system from DSP Technologies. The sample rate was factory set at 12,500 Hz with an analog prefilter with a cutoff frequency of 4000 Hz.
The lighting standard erected for the test was supplied by Valmont Industries, part number DS32-E00E450-20S-GV-HH-SLP. This part number corresponds to an Arizona DOT part number T.S. 4-9-R slip away lighting standard. Completely assembled, the pole was 15 m tall and weighed 442 kg. The pole diameter was 270 mm at the base and 155 mm at top. The SIDH3s head was approximately 1,520 mm above ground and the pole diameter tapered to approximately 255 mm at that elevation. The center of the base bolt circle was aligned with the target impact location, a point just forward of the SIDH3 such that a small clearance between the pole and the SIDH3's face was achieved. The target impact point on the driver door was 1320 mm rearward of the front axle centerline. The poles breakaway mechanism was a three-bolt
