Data plots from the SIDH3 transducers are presented in appendix B. All data plots are of class 1000 data.

Slip away lighting standard . Each of the three slip base strain gage bolts were tightened as close to 44,500 N as possible prior to the test. The actual total clamping load was 133,890 N. The pickup truck struck the light pole at the intended location. The force pressing on the struck side of the pole began to build. The left side of the truck was pushed inward until the C-section frame rail was reached. The frame rail imparted the force necessary to activate the slip base. The slip base began to slip 0.022 s after initial contact. The tension in each bolt increased before the slip base activated. The tension increase in each bolt occurred just prior to base activation. Initially, bolt #1 recorded a decrease in tension before climbing back to a net increase in bolt tension just before base activation. Bolt #2 and bolt #3 show a gradual increase in tension before base activation. The pole base exited the foundation base plate by 0.056 s. The pole remained in contact with the truck until the truck came to rest. Bolt #1 remained within the notch on the slip base foundation base plate. Bolt #2 fell 1500 mm to the right side of the foundation base plate. Bolt #3 was launched downstream by the pole base during base activation. The bolt landed 22 m from its original installed location. Table 11 summarizes the strain gage bolt data. Data plots from the strain gage bolts are presented in appendix D. The pole and mast arm remained bolted together throughout the test. The simulated light fixture dislodged from the mast arm upon impact with the ground. A torn bolt-keeper plate was the only damage observed.
