SUBJECT: Accident Notification - Pacific Lumber Company B-23, N67000, Akron-Canton Airport, Ohio, 1725E, March 29, 1954 |
N67000, following an ILS approach to Runway 36 on the Akron-Canton Airport, abandoned the approach and flow past the control tower requesting a visual check as to the tall wheel position. A left turn was then made to proceed back for another approach. During the second approach, the aircraft crashed and burned 800 feet short of the approach and of Runway 36. Pilot Burr E. Hall, Crew Member I. Phillip Kaufeld, and four passengers received minor injuries. |

1730E scattered clouds at 400, ceiling measured 600, overcast; visibility 4 miles; light freezing drizzle, very light freezing rain; temperature 31; dewpoint 30; wind NNE 16; altimeter 29.82. Freezing rain began at 1725, freezing drizzle began at 172-(garbled). |
