FROM:

SUBJECT:

Aircraft Collision Accident - American Airlines Convalr and Navy Beechcraft, near Port Columbus Airport, Columbus, Ohio, on June 27, 1954

In accordance with Operations Memorandum No. 57 (Rev.) I am attaching for your information a copy of the report made by Mr. Robert G. Carnahan, the Bureau of safety Regulation’s official observer at the accident hearing held in Columbus, Ohio, on July 27, 1954, in connection with the subject accident.

The official observer found that there were no violations of the Civil Air Regulations and that there were no apparent deficiencies in the pertinent Civil Air Regulations which would require regulatory action. From my understanding of the circumstances, I concur in the observer’s report and find no further action by the Bureau necessary.
